meeting a mentor
It wasn’t until my third year at college that I really started to focus on finishing school. One of the art teachers Marylou Stewart that taught most of the art classes became a mentor to me. She gave me vital advice and wisdom that would help me in my career path. She also showed me how to improve my artwork and recommended I transfer to Arizona State University after I got my associates. School began to be overwhelming since I had so many credits to make up. I was taking five art classes a semester and still battling to pay for school. It took me three and a half years to finally graduate with an associated degree in fine arts.
