crossing the first threshold
By the time I graduated I felt like I had won a tiny battle but a war still awaited me. All my friends were getting ready to graduate with four year degrees while it had taken me just as long to complete a two year degree. I did know if I could afford to pay for a university education. The more I did research on possible universities that I could attend, the more I became discourage by the amount in tuition I would have to pay. I ended up choosing to go to Northern Arizona State with the help of my mother applying for financial aid. I had applied to NAU for spring semester and hoped that I would get in with my late registration. I finally got a call a moth later that I had been accepted; however my application had many issues. They had entered me as an out of state student and none of my credits had been transferred. Every time I had contacted the school to fix these issues nothing had been done about it and I was running out of time before the semester started. Another issue that had come to my attention is that even with the help of financial aid I could not afford to attend and dorm at NAU. That’s when I decided that maybe I should take the next semester off and focus on saving enough money to eventually go back to school.
